Finding Money for Pageants
If you and your daughter really want to get involved with pageants and be competitive, you’re going to have to spend some cash. Glitz pageants are very expensive, if you hope to have any chance at all of being successful. The dress alone could cost $2,000, and there are many other expenses involved. Even if you rent a dress instead of buying one, you’re looking at laying out a lot of cash for tanning, hair and makeup, and modeling coaching and training. You’ll also need other outfits for pageants in addition to the glitz dress. Perhaps you just don’t have the money to spare in order to make sure your child is properly prepared for pageants. How can you find the money you need?
One way to earn money for expenses involved with pageants is to find a sponsor. Many pageants include program books that list the sponsor’s name next to the contestant’s name. This is advertising for the business that sponsors you, so they can use it as an advertising deduction on their income taxes. To get sponsors, start with local businesses that you and your family use frequently. Most big chains won’t get involved with things like this, so your best bet is a locally owned business.
